"Clay and Wheel, they teach us." Hamada Shoji 1894 - 1978.
Do you believe that?
We all know art is fun, and pottery is even more for any kids, but why?
I think the answer is:
Expression: Art help kids move beyond technical skill, exploring the world of feeling and their own voice or vision.
Identity: The art help kids look inside and discover who they are and what they believe in.
Persistence: Kids can embrace meaningful problems and persevere through challenges.
Connections: The arts allow creative kids to develop bonds with other like-minded children and adolescents.
And More: Kids practice skills of Observation, Reflection, and Innovation.
I think more like meditation, when wheel is tuning, clay is forming, your mind is all about pottery. Pure therapeutic.
